Mitchell County Partnership for Children (MCPC) serves children within Mitchell, Jewell, Lincoln, Osborne and Cloud counties. Our mission is to provide every child and every parent access to quality and affordable child care, health care, family support and literacy education so that every child enters school ready to learn.

Our services are aligned with goals expressed in the Blueprint for Early Childhood by offering the following early childhood programs:

• PreK and Early Learning Infrastructure included implementation of curricula focused on school readiness and social-emotional development, expansion of quality early learning, and teacher salaries as a second type of programming.
  
  
• Child Care Scholarships with partner facilities in our service areas
  
  
• Family Engagement Evenings in partnership with local USD preschools
  
  
• Parent/Provider Workshops utilizing Conscious Discipline designed to help parents and providers learn strategies to demonstrate support of children's learning and development.

Matching Fund Donation
Our Kansas Early Childhood Block Grant (ECBG) grant requires a cash match that must be raised locally. We need to raise $40,000 by the end of this fiscal year in order to meet our match requirement. Raising this money locally is a critical component in getting our grant renewed for the next three year cycle.

Social Emotional Education

• Programs offered to children birth through 5 in our five-county area focusing on evidence-based programs such as Conscious Discipline and programs offered through the Center on the Social & Emotional Foundations for Early Learning.

 
Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence

• ...in infants & young children; an approach that promotes effective practices to enhance young children's social and emotional competence and prevent challenging behavior.

 
Academic Assessment and Intervention

• Licensed Early Childhood Educators provide academic assessments which are used to target intervention services.

 
Universal Screenings

• A collaborative, community wide effort to help find children, beginning at birth, who are at-risk for a developmental delay. This collaboration includes training of service providers, screening, and a referral system.
