The Register of Deeds is a constitutional office headed by an elected official whose term of office is four years. The duties of the Register of Deeds are prescribed by State law. The office is the official recording and filing office for all legal documents affecting real property. Our Duties
Register of Deeds is a government office tasked with recording, indexing and maintaining records related to real estate in Mitchell County. This office records many types of documents including deeds, mortgages, mortgage releases, liens, affidavits, military discharges, plats and surveys. The Register of Deeds office is not trained to do title searches. |
