Q: What is Mitchell County Alerts?

• A: Mitchell County Alerts is an emergency and non-emergency notification system. This service lets you opt-in to receive notifications via text message, email, phone call, or through the mobile application based on up to five geographic locations of your choice. Upon registering for this service, you are automatically enrolled to receive emergency notifications. During the registration process you can opt-in to various non-emergency notifications.

Q: Who can register for this service?

• A: Anyone - whether you live, work, travel through, or have family / friends in Mitchell County, Kansas - can register for this service.

 
Q: When will notifications be issued?

• A: Emergency alerts will be issued when there are imminent threats to life, health, and safety for residents of Mitchell County. This can include, but is not limited to, severe weather events, hazardous material emergencies, evacuation orders, missing persons, and law enforcement activity. Non-emergency notification alerts will be issued when local government departments / agencies have information that may affect the locations you have entered in the system. You will only receive alerts for the topics per which you opt-in.
  

 
Q: What if my phone number or email address changes?

• A: The system is only as good as the information you provide. If your contact information changes you can always visit your profile page and update your information.

 
Q: How will text messages show up on my mobile phone?

• A: When you receive a text message from Mitchell County Alerts they will be sent from either code 888777 and 89361. You can add these codes as a contact in your address book and label as “Mitchell County Alerts” for easy identification.

Q: How do I download the mobile application?

• A: The mobile application is available on both Android and IOS operating platforms by searching for “EverBridge.” Once the application is installed, you can login in using your username and password you received during the online registration process, or you can register directly from the mobile app. 

Q. Does the App utilize Multi-Factor Authentication?

• A: Yes. Now in effect, all Everbridge users will need to setup multi-factor authentication to continue accessing the Manager Portal through the App.  This requirement is to ensure the security of our system. --  To activate, a Timed, One Time Pass-code (TOTP) will be sent to you via email as soon as you login with your Everbridge username and password.  You will have five minutes to enter the TOTP before it expires, and a new one is issued.  No further action is required.
  
  What is Multi-Factor Authentication?  Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) utilizes TOTP in addition to your traditional username and password when accessing your Everbridge account.  This TOTP is a six-digit numerical code that expires shortly after it is generated.
  

Q: How do I unsubscribe from Mitchell County Alerts?
